If you’re wanting to add some interesting content to your website or blog, how about throwing in some day trips?
This is the time of year most people like to travel. The kids are out of school and being at work all day nearly feels like punishment when it’s so pretty outside. Go have some fun! And when you do, be sure to tell your clients and sphere of influence about it so they can do it, too.
Show them some of the sights that are within about one tank full of gas from home. I’m sure that will give you a LOT to choose from. Pay attention while you’re there so you can report back properly. Really soak up what it’s like there. That’s not only going to help when it’s time to write, but it will be good for your soul as well. You need a break. ENJOY IT.
You’ll want to take a lot of pictures for yourself that include the people you took with you. Make sure you also take plenty that are suitable for a Real Estate Show. It’s my own humble opinion, but nothing brings your descriptions to life quite like a Show!
(And you know what? Go ahead and make another Show for the people you took with you. You know they’ll love it — and pass it around!)
Then you need to write about the fun you had while you were there, what you did and why they’d like to go there, too. Include your Real Estate Show and they’ll feel like they had a little vacation, too.
Take a few more trips and make a series out of it! After all, if it’s for your blog or website, it’s “resesarch”, isn’t it? (This is permission for you to go have fun — get to it!!)

This weekend my family and I had a little adventure. We drove up to Blackwater Falls in Davis, West Virginia. The park and the falls were indeed gorgeous, and I felt some of my stress slide away while I soaked in the beauty. (Just “some” of my stress, because apparently I like to keep some.)
The falls and the views were worth our three hour car trip. But the real reason we were there was to meet Jeff Turner, his wife Rocky and their family.
Yes, I finally met my boss — what a strange world we have with the internet. I was as impressed as I expected to be. Jeff and his wife Rocky have six kids, and each and every one of them is incredible. Together they are one amazing family! I loved getting to meet Jeff and letting our families goof off together.
I’m proud to have my name associated with this company. The people that work for Real Estate Shows are hard workers, and they have a lot of joy in what they do. Working with these people is fun! They also have a lot of joy in their lives outside of work.
And just in case you’d like to unload a little of your stress too, I made you this Real Estate Show.
Watch and relax.

I recently saw a Real Estate Show by Pam Paulsen of Keefe Real Estate, Inc. The show was visually stunning, empathetic and called for action.
I thought it was PERFECT.
I wrote to Pam and asked if I could feature her Show so that you could see it, too. Her use of beautiful images works so well with her words. If I were shopping online for a real estate agent, finding this Show would tell me that Pam understands how overwhelming real estate can be for the average person. She wants to make it easier on me. She seems like a nice, knowledgeable person.
I’d be contacting her ASAP!
To put together a similar Show, think about what local sites you could photograph. You’ll not only be marketing yourself as a caring agent, you’ll be showing your local expertise as well!
You could use similar words with a local park, walking trail or pretty view. Make it something others will recognize for the most impact.
Send it out to your sphere of influence, put it online and share it around! Make it beautiful and local and people will pass it around for you.
Good luck — and if you make your own version, please let me see it!

This is not a Show I’ve made yet, but I think I will.
Sometimes when you’re inside a house that’s for sale, you’ll see that the owners have made up a nice little photo album of their home. The pictures are usually from throughout the year, so potential buyers can see the fall colors or spring flowers, or even how nice the house looks draped in snow and lights.
I always enjoy flipping through these books. If it’s a house my clients are considering buying I know they really get a kick out of it, too.
So why not do that with your Real Estate Shows? Ask your sellers if they have some pictures of their house taken through the year. Make up a Show of your listing through all the seasons and connect it to your main show. If someone is interested in the house, they’re going to want to see as much of it as they can, and this is going to be a surprising bonus for them.
If they are in love with a house enough to want to buy it, they’ll want to see all they can of it.

The new Flock web browser has a blog editor.
It’s built right into the browser itself. I am using it right now, taking it for a test drive to see how it works. The description makes it seem worth a look. So far I’m not sold. I haven’t found a reason to do this here instead of inside the blog platform.
I’m going to just type some more and then upload a photo. Hmm… can’t seem to upload photos anywhere. And it appears this blog editor will automatically publish, not send to draft. Very interesting. Sorry, gang. You’re seeing my live testing.
Ok. I figured it out. You have to set up your media accounts first, then you can just drag and drop images to your post from your computer. It uploads them to your chosen media host, like Flickr, and puts a thumbnail in the post. Like this:

But it won’t let me set how the image appears in the post.
It also seems to NOT want to publish to my CA2WV Blog on Blogger. It tried to publish for a long, long time with no visible result, so I stopped it. I’ll keep trying in a minute. In the meantime I set up all of my Wordpress.com and self-hosted blogs, including the Real Estate Shows Blog. If I can’t get it to post to blogger, I’ll try posting to RES next. You’ll know whether it worked or not by where this shows up.
