Email To A Friend Is Now A Lot More Impactful

by Jeff Turner on December 2, 2009

On November 25, I received the following email from Sheree Wilkerson of Realty World Alliance in Witchita, Kansas:

Jeff, my boss, Greg Fox, and I have been avid RES advocates and users for a while now.

A fellow agent introduced Zingdings because she really wishes to be able to send email with the card embedded (an e-card), versus the RES method of forwarding a show and getting a little message with a link to click. Or the more cumbersome method of saving the html and inserting it into an outlook email as text. Or the alternative of paying Constant Contact or Icontact, etc, and then still having to transfer the code over.

Point being…  does RES have anything in the works to allow an embed email with a show (still image I’m assuming, like the Craigslist RES flyers are) to be mailed out from its servers?

Thanks for your help!

Sheree

What they were looking for was a better looking, more informative email when sending a show using the “forward” button on our shows. So, today we have made the change and now all emails sent using the forward button will be sent in the html format shown in the image to the right.

To give it a try, just navigate to any of your Real Estate Shows, click on the “forward” button on the left side of the Show and fill out the form. Send one to yourself first to see how it looks.

Sheree and Greg, thank you for the recommendation. We should have done this long ago!

One of the things we adore about RES is that if we have a question, comment, or concern, all we have to do is throw it at you and you’ll see if it’s possible. I’m stoked that this one was possible and can’t wait to unveil this new feature to our agents on Friday!!

I make extensive use of the RSS feed provided for our listings and I would dearly love to see sort parameters added to the feed URL – options similar to what are available on the show inventory page would be great

I’m not sure what the difference is between emailing the show to someone or just forwarding it. Why do one over the other?
