Independence Day Greetings - Flickr Style

Published by Jeff Turner at 3:58 pm under ideas

Independence day is fast approaching.

It’s time to get your July 4th greetings together. We thought we’d help by providing a demo for you to emulate. This year we thought we’d pay tribute to all of those on Flickr who willingly contribute their content via Creative Commons license.

If you’d like to use the same photos we used in this demo show, click here. This will download the folder of images in a zip file. Unzip that file and upload the photos inside the folder to your own Show.

These photos are licensed for commercial use, but ONLY if you give proper attribution to the photographers. You can do that by including reference to their names in your own Show. Copy and paste the “Flickr photography by” line below at the end of your own message in the description field of your Show.

Flickr photographs by: thedamian, longhorndave, gregt, fredoalvarez and niels_olson.

Have a safe and happy 4th of July!

The page is impossible to read. I would love to use these ideas but I can’t view tha page becasue the print is too small and impossible to read. Is there anyway you would try to fix your web page?

Awesome idea! I embedded one in my blog at http://www.2Frys.com/2FrysBlog.

As for this page, I’m not sure what issue Maija has, it displays fine on my browser.

    Nina… thank you.

Maija… most browsers provide a way for you to set your default text size and you can set it to force the text larger. I am not seeing what you are seeing.

Randy… Thanks, and thanks for the link. The link is not loading properly because it includes the period at the end. Here is the link to Randy’s Blog post. http://www.2frys.com/2FrysBlog

How do I email a 4th of July show that I make on your website to my clients?

  6. RESon 26 Jun 2007 at 12:16 pm

Kathy, the best way to email a Show to your clients is to copy and paste the URL for the Show into the body of an email from YOUR email account. This will allow the emails to get through your clients spam filters, since they are likely to have already received an email from you in the past. Most email applications allow you to send to multiple email addresses at one time.

I liked this show, it then started my brain to working and I wanted to put together something of my own with flags, white house, cemetary, soldiers lifting flag etc… and play “Proud to be an American” or some call it “God Bless the USA”. Wish I had the capabilities with my shows to do something like this to share with my clients and customer base.

Jeff - great idea as usual - thanks for doing all the work of putting it together for us! P.S. Happy 4th of July to you too!

    Jeff,
Just had to let you know how much I LOVE Real Estate Shows! I was the first agent in my hometown that I know of to start using it last year. The agents in my office were so impressed they had me show them how to do it so they could start using it. My clients think I’m a genius and love the shows (I try to include their pets at the end of the shows if they have one or I try to find another way to personalize it for them). They email the link to all their friends and family who are all very impressed. Soon, I was getting calls from other agents in my area who wanted to know how I was doing the great shows they saw on my listings in our MLS. Thanks for making me look great to my clients and friends! P.S. I love the ability to shoot family/friends events and use them for the holidays! Just another way to get my name/image/etc. out there! It’s all good!
