The Beautiful Thing About Jottblogging

This is marks the first time Jott has NOT been able to transcribe a message from me. Here is the message I received: [speech too fast, please listen] So, that means this is being transcribed by me. Bummer.

As, I listened, I realize my call quality was not good.

I’m sure that’s the real reason it could not transcribe properly. That’s not the point of this post, however. The point of this post is to update the blog and force some content to the search engines so that I can better test the new SiteNeighbors.com widget in the sidebar.  I was happy I could do it from my car… maximizing time is good. Wasting time is bad.

This didn’t work out the way I had hoped.

Update On Jott And Vitalist

This is a long over due update on my test of Jott and VitaList. I’m using it almost daily now as a way to notify myself of things that I need to do and Vitalist has actually replaced a system of to do lists that I have been using for 20 years. I could never bring myself to get rid of my old paper system until now. I’m still waiting on Jott to increase the length of the message.

Vitalist And Jott: Nice Combination

Vitalist and Jott might be the perfect combination of two websites. I am just beginning to testing this but i find a great article that I appoint you to last night link from Technorati from Jott’s website that is just making sense so lets see how that it all works. I hve been testing this for the past few days and I like it a great deal. I first read about the possibilities at Shainemata.net in a post entitled, “Jott-alist.” I got it to work on first try and I’ve been using it to create my to do list. I’ve always used a paper to do list and still will… I’m just going to print out the Vitalist reminder email I get each day at midnight. It’s worth a look.

Jott Length Now 30 Seconds?

As I was reviewing the last Jott to draft post, I realized that the length of the Jott message was longer than their 15 second publicized message length. 30 seconds is longer than 15 seconds. Call me Mr. Obvious, but it’s still not long enough to act as a form of “podcast” for anything meaningful. An option they may want to consider is not offering transcription options for Jott’s in excess of a certain length. This new 30 second length seems more reasonable even for their original intended purpose.
