Sometimes, I make mistakes.
Sometimes, I royally mess up. BIG TIME.
I usually beat myself up about it, too. I bet you treat yourself the same way. When we think about our mistakes, we feel bad all over again.
I don’t want to do that anymore. I don’t want you to do it anymore, either.
Usually, we have to make lots of mistakes before we learn to do something really well. We have lots of setbacks on our ways to being experts, and it’s nothing to be ashamed of. We can’t ride a bicycle the first time we try. In nearly everything we do, there is a learning period.
Since mistakes are a stepping stone to success. I’m going to try to remember that my next blunder is just helping me to learn faster. It will force me to look at my problem from another angle, possibly giving me a better solution than I might have found if I’d been successful from the beginning.
