New RealEstateShows.com Features Tonight!

by RES on April 3, 2007

The cat’s out of the bag.

Tonight, somewhere between 8PM and 9PM Pacific Standard Time , we’ll be updating our servers with all the new code to add the following features capabilities:

  • YouTube Video: You can place a YouTube video inside your Show and retain your branding and all of the other information related to the Show.
  • Panorama Player: A new way to view wide, panoramic shots.
  • RealPing Integration: RealPing customers will be able to have a “Talk With Me Now” button in their personal branding area.
  • Uploader Upgrade: this will require a reload of the ActiveX plugin, but fixes some issues with the uploader in Internet Explorer and Vista.
  • Player Redesign: The player has been completely revamped and redesigned to allow space for these new features.
  • Duplicate A Show: You’ll now be able to click a button and instantly duplicate a Show without having to upload photos again or input information. You can then make the minor changes to the Show as needed.
  • Related Shows Menu Improvement: We’ve dramatically improved how the related Shows function works inside the player.
  • Schedule An Appointment Form: A new link will appear in the personal branding area that will allow a viewer to fill out a form to request a meeting or showing. This email goes directly to you.

We’re excited about these changes and we know you will be too! Here’s a quick video overview:

Jeff – this is outstanding stuff. Good summary/video and some neat fucntionality. I look forward to the changes. Any thoughts on a longer show, say 12 pics?

BTW I have been using RES as part of my pre-listing packet and the initial listing presentation. I have a number of community shows so I let prospects know about these when I send out my prelisting package and letter (so they can preview and see what I do with the community). Not only do they get to see the RES but also the AR community profile.

I also now take exterior pics of the house beforehand, along with the street, neighborhood and immediate community, and assemble a show that I used during my listing presentation. It is easy to modify this for use with the listing, plus add additional shows to showcase the interior, yard, etc. And of course the community profile is already done. Very cool stuff.

To Jeff and everyone at RE SHOWS,

Here you are again with a new release and again an even bigger WOW!! This is fantastic. With every new realease, you continue to reinvent yourselves in ways that blows away the competition. I love the creativity and flexibilty of RE Shows. You certainly ARE the pioneers of the virtual tour industry and you stand tall above the rest. Thanks for your continued R&D and creative sales ideas.

Now I just need to find time to work on my RE Shows account and put these tools to work for me. This is very exciting.

Beyond great… AWESOME!

Out of the hundreds of real estate support services available, RealEstateShows and Point2Agent are the absolute best in my opinion.

Once again, you guys have stepped up to the plate and actually found ways to improve on an already outstanding product.

We can’t thank you enough!

My compliments on the upgrades to the Realestateshows functionality. I have had the opportunity to look at the player redesign thus far and have some observations.
-When viewing “more photos” or “related shows”, there is no opportunity for the person viewing to backtrack to main show. I can imagine intuitively where the viewer would want to go back to where they came from and may be confused about how to do that. “related shows” could maybe toggle to “back to main”. Same for “more photos”. That would be intuitive.
-Moving “related shows” to upper left with other show choices is better, thanks for doing that. Placing something called “Other Shows” in the area where ‘related’ used to be seems OK but at the same time it takes the viewer away from the show that they have primary initial interest in. It still seems OK however. When I select ‘Other Shows”, it lists two other shows that I have active on file when I actually have a good many more than two. Is this some sort of program error or is two maybe the limit on that feature. If two is the limit and all things considered, I would rather not have the viewing person be given the option to leave the primary show to view other shows that are not related.
-This is an old issue that I am just now getting around to pointing out. When selecting “location”. That Google feature works sometimes and sometimes it doesn’t. If the person knows (intuitively) to put the city (that somehow does not migrate) in with the street address and zip code info (that does migrate) then they can see the location. I like this feature a lot unless it does not work. It looks to be about a 50/50 hit and miss function.

Again, my hearty compliments on the effort being put in to making this solution even better. I appreciate the effort and the return on my value for having invested in the tool.

I am in agreement with the suggestion of doing a longer show (i.e. 12 pic’s).

Thanks

On a follow up to my recent previous blog post…..”Other Shows” does now list all my other RES shows. On first pass, only two other shows showed up on the list.

Thanks

RES April 5, 2007 at 9:08 am

Dave, first thank you for the detail on this. We truly appreciate it.

Let’s address each one:

1. We are aware that clicking through to Related Shows does not allow you to get back to the original Show. We are working on that right now. We did not want to delay this launch for that fix. As for More Photos, if you click on “Show” at the top, it does take you back to the main show. If that is not working for you, please let us know.

2. For any Show to appear in Other Shows it must be selected as such. Since you can create any kind of Show you wish, we don’t automatically include them. You might not want a Show about your kids showing up when someone searches the MLS. :) So you just need to select the “View in Other Shows” radio button on each Show you want to appear there.

3. We’ve not heard about this specific Google issue before, so we’ll take a very close look at that. We can obviously only pass information to them and have little control over what happens on Google, but we can make sure the information passed is 100% accurate. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

4. Longer Shows: We will probably never make a longer main Show, not for technical reasons, but for psychological reasons. If you haven’t done so, please read this post: http://res.realestateshows.com/?p=45 It’s our best effort at explaining why we feel so strongly about this. Longer Shows, in our opinion, would just be longer, not better. We obviously would love more discussion around this, however!

Again, thank you! We really appreciate your input.
