Sarah, so true, so basic, so often overlooked. The Internet itself is a prime example. I know many Realtors who still rely exclusively on the telephone to communicate with prospects and clients. They believe it is more personal and thus more effective. Yet some of their clients prefer to communicate via email. And many of their prospects never become clients because they too prefer email and their preferences are ignored.

It's frustrating to work hard and not achieve your desired result and oftentimes the reason is that you just didn't pay close enough attention to how the other person wants you to communicate.

Thanks for this excellent reminder.

What a great reminder to talk with people in the manner they prefer, not the way we prefer.

Wonderful communication examples, Sarah. All of the different ways we can share our shows are a testament to the fact that Jeff and the rest of the RES staff listens and understands our business and what we need to help us succeed.

Great post Sarah, you are right we need to communicate in such a way that we are understood and that is something I could use a lesson on.
